Third studio album from Cleveland, TN natives J. Roddy Walston & The Business. Essential Tremors, named for Walston's neurological disorder, is an awesomely heavy hitting mixture of southern soul, punk rock, and really just some good straight forward rock and roll. I love this album through and through. RIYL: Black Keys, KOL, Blitzen Trapper, Delta Spirit, Cold War Kids.
FCC CLEAN!!
Recommended tracks: All!! Especially: 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 11
1. (3:52) Heavy Bells - When I first listened to this album, starting with this song is a pretty fucking awesome way to start. Hard hitting, gritty rock and roll. I was hooked.
2. (3:01) Marigold - More bluesy feel, swinging melody.
3. (4:10) Take It As It Comes - Love this too, great melody, great instrumentation, cool backing harmonies.
4. (3:07) Black Light - Mid tempo, steady beat, get ready to bob your head.
5. (3:20) Sweat Shock - A little AHHH-ing to start off this one, heavy on the kick drum, let's rock.
6. (4:28) Nobody Knows - Down tempo, piano only to start off, more instruments build in later. Country-rock feel.
7. (3:25) Hard Times - Simple and up beat, foot tapping music.
8. (4:08) Boys Can Never Tell - Down tempo, strumming guitar and piano.
9. (3:03) Same Days - This one sounds kind of Band of Skulls-y, really its just another catchy rock song.
10. (3:36) Tear Jerk - Blues driven up beat with some driving piano.
11. (5:25) Midnight Cry - Soul ballad. Love love this one.
12. (5:34) I Think of You - Piano and vocals only. Great. Rest of the instruments build in around 3:30 and it turns into quite the jam.
