electronic/bass music/dance/experimental
Sparse bass music, skittish, but funky. Reminds me of a lot of what I like about the Hessle Audio and Hemlock labels. Well constructed, but catchy. All tracks are great if you're into this sort of thing, but #3 is my favorite.
RIYL: Ramadanman/Pearson Sound, Pangaea, Untold's earlier stuff, Joe, Hessle and Hemlock stuff in general
1: the sounds of the other bass music (miami bass) and early hip-hop reconfigured as what now gets labeled bass music (as in dubstep etc). dark, sparse, rolling percussion, synth stabs, lasers. 4:21
2: jumpy kicks with no decay, an almost soca feel to the beat early on. slinky. echo-y vocal sample ("nobody knows i'm here"). squelchy bass line and springy synth hits. in the same vein as ramadanman or pangaea's sparser stuff. tasteful drop just before 3:40. 5:45
3: dry no decay kick and reverbed snare for a while. other percussion elements slowly folded in, mostly with lots of reverb. bassline finally comes in around 1:00, and some almost melodic textures around 1:15 (with more and more chimes and bells introduced throughout, mostly with lasting echo). sparingly applied soulful female wails around 4:00. 6:38
4: opens with horror movie synths and insistent clusters of kick drum. shimmery echoed synth stabs. congas. percussion gets stripped back and glitchy computer textures get introduced around 1:20. builds back up around 1:50. rippling bassline introduced around 3:something and brought back intermittently. 6:09
