High end prog/fusion that dips into post rock here and there but mostly drinks from the same well as Soft Machine, Deep Purple’s more experimental side. From Oslo and named after their favorite hot sauce, the band cites influences as “Cream, Hendrix, the galactic jazz of Sun Ra and Ornette Coleman, Sonny Sharrock and Alice Coltrane plus the raw power of Sabbath and The Pixies”. I can totally see that. Kick ass stuff with Hammond Organ, proficient bass/drums and searing smoking guitar front and center. All instrumental/no FCCs.
1) (3:54) smoking prog jazz
2) (17:16) begins quietly, builds to an almost doomy rock feel, with the big Deep Purple Hammond and searing guitar, but most certainly firmly prog-jazzy, about 7 minutes in theres an “ending” (one could easily pot down here) then a second half begins similarly to the start, maintains an ambient spaciness until it finally breaks into a jam that’s more post rock than prog
3) (5:58) slow minimal waltzing, pretty
4) (14:25) goes through spectrum of smoking prog, searing fuzzed guitars, the works
5) (2:06) quiet, minimal guitar, brushed drums, late night ballad
