Fine sophomore effort from JP Harris. Classic traditional country music sound
and themes – heartbreak, honky-tonks, booze, etc. Vocals reminiscent of a
young Waylon Jennings.
1 – (3:12) Give A Little Lovin’* Bouncy mid-tempo honky-tonk tune, really fine.
2 – (2:40) A Breaking Heart* Mid-up country shuffle, weeper, so fine!
3 – (3:16) South Oklahoma* Mid Tex-Mex style, very nicely done.
4 – (3:31) Old Love Letters* Another fine weeper, mid-tempo march.
5 – (3:10) Home Is Where The Hurt Is* Fine honky-tonk anthem, slow tempo.
6 – (3:26) Maria* Nice shuffle, more contemporary Nashville sound here.
7 – (4:22) Every Little Piece* Bitter, dark, very dark, vengeful, excellent.
8 – (2:13) One For Every Day* Love-gone-wrong, but recovery at the bar.
9 – (2:39) Truckstop Amphetamines* Touching song of longing, soft & sweet.
10 – (2:26) Young Women And Old Guitars* Upbeat country rocker, fine.
