General Description: recommended for electric guitar players/enthusiasts who enjoy experimentation of what the guitar can do without the intrusion of a coherent melody; a constant bouncing of more rhythmic motives with only occasional fluid lines
– Musicians:
Jeff Cedrone
Chris Cretella
Bob Gorry
– FCC Compliant: YES
– Recommended Tracks: 5
– Track Reviews:
1.*(17:44) Wine Dream - slow; dissonant plucking, repetitive chromatic walking, turns into a fugue of sorts, then drifts with walking and plucked suspensions, gets crowded after a bit, crystal tones mixed with distortion then a 'solo', crowded again, Atari game sounds, exploration of independent ideas, around 13:00 the use of feedback and distortion becomes more intense with motives that don't budge
2.*(4:52) That Horse You Rode In On Don't Smell So Good - slow; The Twilight Zone met three guitars on the dusty street that day, one got dirty, one stayed high on the frets, and one of them turned into a mandolin having a nightmare, and then they quietly left town by the side streets
3.*(6:41) EC - slow; unison call and response used as a peddle tone while one wanders away some, then some thoughts, then the repetition stops and gives way to echoing of fast licks, then distortion, gets fast, then more airy and dripping at around 5:30, ends with the peddle tone
4.*(4:10) Goodbye Watson - very electric, pitch-bending and fast licks, lots of distortion of the 'can't quite tune that station in on the dial' sort
5.*** (7:38) Triangle 345 - more repetition with humming bass that abruptly stops and starts, slow chromatic walking up and down, repetition has a hypnotic effect, they break loose and follow each other around creating a 'busy insects' vibe then go back to the hypnotic repetition
