The Juke That Sat By the Door is an EP by Columbus, Ohio legend, Obnox. It’s an enthralling addition to his prolific discography. Brief, loud, and full of distorted mumble vocals, Bim Thomas aka Obnox, jams in the studio with a freer approach than in previous recordings. It almost feels like a rehearsal. Punk meets garage soul meets studio experimentation. Primal!

RIYL: Bassholes, Bad Brains, Chrome Cranks, The Rip-Offs, and, Pussy Galore.

Recommended Tracks: 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7

Side A
1. (0:09) Loudspeaker – “Let’s talk about frequencies found in records…” Found instructional recording.
2. (0:36) Dark Arts – Noisy fragment rocking hard. Ohhhh!!!
3. (3:00) **All Hail The Deejay – Semi-incoherent chant with memorable melody. Hail to the Deejay indeed.
4. (3:43) **Sit Yo Ass Down – 1970’s arena rock inspired tune with great guitar work and lots of distortion.

Side B
5. (2:58) *Thanks For Yesterday – Noisy ballad with lots of babies.
6. (0:06) Honkey – Studio filtered field recording.
7. (3:33) **(Do) The Clap – Crazy noise-blues upbeat cut. Hypnotic incoherent vocals. Yeah!
8. (0:39) Buzz Clique – Feedback and more noise in reverse. Great ending.
