An Autumn for Crippled Children - The Long Goodbye
Label: Wicker Man
Review: Dark Emperor
One of my favorite Post-Black Metal / Shoegaze bands in the world. They were doing the 'Deafhaven'-styled music, before Deafheaven ever discovered it. So they are the non-posers in my book. Their sound is a bit more raw and direct. Band is a complete mystery with none of their member?s id's being revealed. The only fact is that they hail from the Netherlands and play awesome stuff.
FCC CLEAN
Play: ALL, with 8
1. (04:58) - Loud opener that winds down into some funky experimental stuff. (5 out of 5)
2. (04:12) - Bigger focus on a trippy atmosphere than shoegazy riffs. (4 out of 5)
3. (04:03) - Intense stuff with heavily distorted vocals and moody tempo changes (4 out of 5)
4. (05:01) - Has a post-apocalyptic feeling, quite atmospheric piece (5 out of 5)
5. (04:10) - Dramatic atmospheric backdrop and extremely distorted guitars (4.5 out of 5)
6. (04:40) - Mood-swinging piece filled with brilliant atmospheric passages (5 out of 5)
7. (05:44) - Subtle electronic elements make this track quite odd, but good at the same place. ( 4.5 out of 5)
8. (03:54) - Indie Rock goes Post-Black Metal goes Cold Wave? pretty cool and different song. (5 out of 5)
9. (04:22) - Shifting use of different more retro sounding Atmospheric elements, quite good and different (from the first 6 songs). (5 out of 5).
