Spanglish Fly’s new album “New York Boogaloo” takes you back to 1960s NYC. This 10-piece band creates music with blues chord structure infused with Afro-Latin percussion and the result is music that makes you want to dance.
Play any track. They all work.
1. Bouncy, happy track. Spanglish Fly’s version of Woody Guthrie’s version of“This Land Is Your Land.”
2. A track inspired by “A Love Supreme” track. Innit a John Coltrane track?
3. Horns shine in this zippy, peppy track.
4. Martian Boogaloo reminded me of DeeLite & Perez Prado. Play it loud ok?
5. Reminds you of smoky room, bell bottoms & peace signs.Captures 1960s groove with a Latin flavor.
6. Peppy. Has that 1960s sound. Big horns. Reminds you of spy films. Pink Panther.
7. Inspired by the song Locomotion. Peppy.
8. An English song about traveling round NY in a bike. Bouncy. Frothy. Puts you in
a happy mood. Why fight it, eh?
9. Slow number.
10. Lively, ebullient, happy track. Just play it.
