Mixture of many genres in a “Rio de la Plata” style that uses Argentine and Uruguayan tempos and melodies; lush but not overwhelming orchestral arrangements alternate with simpler arrangements of tangos, milongas, and Latin flavored rock; solid rhythm on every track
No FCC's
1. Intro -(1:46) – mysterious riff in minor key
2. *Codigo de barra –(3:02)- full orchestra kicks in; lots of strings; lively w/badoneon – sweet
3. *Segundos afuera (3:45) – more bandoneon plus orchestra; nice syncopation; moves right along
4. *Pide piso (5:25) – more syncopation, percussion, synth;staccato; keyboard; strings kick in later; slows then speeds up
5. **Nocturno (3:33) – keyboard solo-- more meditative with keyboard underneath modulating treble
6. Pena en mi corazon (5:17) – vocalist with synth backup plus violins, percussion; devolves to straight-up rock
7. *Caminante (4:07) – pulsing rhythm starts with spooky violin; bandoneon comes in; Astor Piazzola for the 21st century
8. La trufa y el sifon (4:12) – weird beginning with keyboard/synth punch-up; badoneon ornaments; plenty of noise for those who like that
9. **Sabelo (4:37)- weird treble synth sounds with keyboard chords underpinning; keyboard takes over melody; violin sneaks in; fused with multiple genres, but a whole instead of a mishmash, skipping beat, endings with background chanting
10. Patras (4:38) – a bit Hall of the Mountain King at beginning; a bit of a mad marching beat
11. Oigo Voces (2:18) – a capella harmony; American 40's style; scat with vocal percussion
12. Cuesta arriba (4:25)-- rock beat with bandoneon flourishes and vocals
13. *Rendezvous (4:24) – quieter, slower piano with drum and bandoneon; very evocative
14. Lluvia -(5:07) – vocals with backup beats and synth, starts loud, gets quieter; disco beat
15. Noviembre (1:50) – thunderstorm sounds at beginning; then violin, nature sounds
16. Circular (4:55) – late sixties electric guitar sound with vocals
17. *A repechaje (4:11) – back and forth beat, catchy
18. *Milongon (2:51) – updated traditional with lots of instrumental flourishes; catchy
19. Asi es (Propergol) (3:56) –weird synth sounds plus vocals, mysterious
20. Olvidate (3:53) – rock beat; segues to conga line-type vocals
21. Outro (1:48) – back to tip-toe percussion and electric guitar; mellow ending
