Fresh take on some familiar and some new Christmas songs by Canadian jazz artist Johnny Summers and the Calgary Jazz Orchestra; big band sound updated; nice tenor voice; well-executed arrangements.

Favorite Tracks: 1, 5,7, 11
*1-'Zat You, Santa Claus? -5:53 – fun, noir sounding spin on Santa Claus
2-The Christmas Waltz – 3:12 – peppy waltz by Jules Styne
3-Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer –4:35 –nice instrumental flourishes on this classic
4-Long Way to Go –7:45-- gospel-type song written by Summers; lyrics are a little predictable
*5- Winter Wonderland –3:39 –stride piano style accompaniment
6—What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? – 4:49 – horn intro; slow; great piano accompaniment on this Frank Loesser song
*7-- Baby, It's Cold Outside –3:30 – nice take on this Frank Loesser tune; upbeat; duet
8-When It's Christmas Time – 5:45 – Johnny Summers tune; classic rock & roll style
9-Let It Snow! Le It Snow! Let It Snow! --3:26 – moves right along; nice guitar solo
10—O Holy Night – 6:49 – fifties ballad style segues into jazz, more verses than I've ever heard to this; it's definitely not the Pavarotti version!
*11-I'll Be Home for Christmas –3:42 – quite slow; a little campy
