Teen Suicide / It's the Big Joyous Celebration, Let's Stir the Honeypot (Run for Cover Records) . Lo-Fi, Indie rock band out of Silver Spring, Maryland. This album is filled to the brim with computer generated noises for, seemingly, little reason. The entire album sounds like a warped tape playing from a broken Game Boy speaker. Sam Ray’s vox are incoherent, monotone, and whiny. There are a few tracks that I found catchy. Over all, this would make Robert Smith have an extra depressing day. FCC CLEAN. Try (3,9,20, 22)

(1) (4:28) pronounced bass, slow (2) (2:13) female vox, heavy, slow (3) *(2:26) distortion, lots of FX (4) (1:42) vox back ups, pleasant bells (5) (2:33) drum machine, dark, slow (6) (4:01) lots of forest noises, feels long (7) (2:07) nice intro, flat vox (8) (2:39) auto-tune, feels a little funky (9) *(2:40) very mellow, lots of synth (10) (1:13) scratchy, feels slow (11) (2:32) sounds like it’s being played on a broken speaker, sad (12) (2:00) very repetitive, very confusing (13) (2:11) opens with potential and then nothing, it’s sleepy (14) (1:19) lots of FX, sometimes the crackling is nice (15) (2:12) NIN-ish, drum machine (16) (2:00) very simple guitar, vox distortion, broken speaker (17) (2:36) great intro, falls flat, simple guitar (18) (3:12) nice intro, touch of surf rock, monotone vox (19) (1:35) simple guitar, fanatical keyboard 20) **(3:36) nice intro, picks up to pronounced bass, fun? ¯\_('_')_/¯ (21) (2:39) opens with an answering machine, lots of incoherent vox, awkward, closes with an answering machine (22) **(3:45) great song, mellow, kind of catchy, Weezer on xanex (23) (2:23) sounds like a bad club song, lots of noise (24) (2:47) very warped, lots of FX, what dying feels like, listener beware (25) (4:33) club beats, FX all over the place (26) (2:39) auto-tune, sounds like the tape is about to die and it actually is (I guess it fits part of the narrative?)
