Soulful dream pop that evokes Julia Holter in a '70s Fleetwood Mac/Gene Clark nostalgia. Impossibly lovely.
No FCCs, and all tracks will melt you.
1. (4:01) * Committed Language—Watery keys, whirring synthesizer, stand out bass groove. Vocals in a high register and sound nearly identical to Stevie Nicks. Playfully restless.
2. (4:37) *** Dream Story—Faster '70s pop song. Drum machine, synths, soaring vocals. "When you gonna tell me your dream story?"
3. (3:24) ** Friday—Melancholic piano ballad with some background vocals. Powerfully visceral crescendoes and comedowns.
4. (5:15) ** Mystique—Downtempo. Vocal-driven with minimal instruments besides bass and occasional ascending synthesizer. "I think I’m ready now, bring back the mystery."
