Youthful musicians from Delano, CA (8 boys/8 girls – 9-18 years old) perform classic mariachi tunes with remarkable passion and sweetness: wonderful clear singing; nice horn and harp flourishes; nicely recorded in old Hollywood Capitol Studios; all are worth listening to
No FCC issues – all Spanish; Favorite tracks: 1, 2, 6, 8, 11
*1 - Te Doy La Libertad (3:13) – starts w/trumpet salute; nice female vocalist w/guitar underpinning and horn flourishes
*2- Sentimental (2:44) – lively but sweet and heartfelt
3-A mas no poder (2:50) – male singer; uptempo; keeps moving straight ahead
4-Paloma negra (3:32) – waltz rhythm; slow; impassioned female singer is a little over the top
5- La piedra (2:50) – up tempo – really moves
*6 –El Gavilancillo – (3:13) – nice guitar work to start; really fast-paced with good choral work
7- Fallaste corazón –(3:32) – oom-pah-pah waltz; emotional female singer
*8-Incondicional (3:47) –sweetly sung with nice guitar and violin work
9-Con la muerte entre los punos (3:05) – nicely sung ballad with orchestration
10 –Vas a llorar por mi (3:41) – slow sad-sounding w/pretty treble harmony
*11 – Tu retirada (3:08) – starts with horn salute; close treble harmony
12. La Feria de San Marcos (3:21) –uptempo, lots of horns and chorus
