– General Description: Richard Moult is an English musician whose work ranges from improvised and experimental psych-folk to solo compositions, usually for piano or small classical ensembles.

“Chamber Music” and “Hroan Of The Ceri Forest” have lots of sustained chords with some melody above. This creates a dark atmosphere but doesn’t progress beyond the bogs, so to speak. This insistence on sustained high tones by the violins is puzzling because it makes it sound as if making atmosphere rather than a full orchestrated composition is the only goal - call it movie music then and be done with it.

“Chamber Music” is a new and extended version carefully re-constructed using keyboards and orchestral samples and a newly completed third movement. “Hroan Of The Ceri Forest” is a new suite. “The Lime Field” is an arrangement of a Baby Dee song using a string, flute and oboe quintet and much lighter in feel.
