INDIE DREAM POP
The sixth album from this NYC-based trio is mostly of the work of composer Michael Serafin-Wells, who sings and plays guitar, bass & percussion. Some vocals are by Michael’s partner, Summer Serafin, now deceased. The third member provides backing guitar & vocal. Vocals are mixed much behind the guitars and difficult to make out. Lyrics are printed on the included booklet. Tracks 5, 7, 9 are instrumentals; #1 is mostly.
No FCC issues.
Slow. Mostly instrumental: rhythm guitar, bits of spoken voice, sounds. Gentle. (5:57)
Very slow. Excruciating dirge. Dark, strummed guitar. Good lyrics can’t be heard. (5:39)
* Very slow. Dreamy. Sad again, but brighter sound. Prayer-like choral singing. (6:17)
Mid-tempo. Sonic fog. Can’t hear anything but some guitar strumming. (6:24)
** Slow. Instrumental: elec guitars, bass, sounds (sleigh bells?). Pleasant trance. (4:18)
Very slow dirge. Michael laments for Summer. Too bad you can’t hear him. (5:24)
Slow. Instrumental. Strictly rhythm. A bit brighter than the others. Repetitive. (4:47)
** Mid-slow. More a pop song than the rest, and you can hear the singing. Cheery. (6:04)
Mid-slow. Instrumental. Fuzzy rhythm guitar; second guitar noodles a little melody (2:56)
* Mid-slow. Another ode to Summer; not so dreary as #6. Fuzzy. Catchy refrain. (5:06)
* Starts slow, steadily gets faster. Male harmony singing. Almost happy. (5:19)
Very slow. Missing her. Samples of Summer singing & speaking. Way too long. (10:38)
