Review: pianist Virelles takes Afro Cuban jazz into the 21st century with short sonic eclectic and sometimes abstract pieces of modern jazz. His versatile troupe of musicians can bend & swing wherever he leads. Careful: almost every track ends suddenly, right at the point where you are really in the groove.
If You Like: Omar Sosa, Vijay Iyer, Yelena Eckemoff, Nana Vasconcelos, Egberto Gismonti
