Review: long time sideman & keyboardist Weidman returns with a set of gospel tunes set to straight ahead jazz. He is paying homage to music that grew out of the slave system in the American South. He has a terrific quartet and a female vocalist. You don’t have to religious to dig it.
If you Like: McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Smith, Stanley Turrentine, Carmen McCrae
