Swiss trio: “minimalist rock” as Cuneiform website mentions but sounds like progressive avante jazz influenced post’y rock (I hesitate to use the last genre label). All instrumental. Guitar bass and drums, the latter plays distinctly mathy complex beats, the former relies on lots of harmonics and efx driven experimentalism, the bass provides a solid footing among all this controlled chaos. Beautiful stuff, for fans of CAN, Do Make Say Think.
1) (13:16) cool almost mechanical looping spastic urgent driving rhythm and feel, with mosaic of harmonics, an electro synth feel too, builds heavy, super advanced epic stuff 2) (6:59) skippy mathy subtle drums begin, quiet bass and guitar harmonics, calm before the storm I sense…indeed, the storm builds slowly but results in another epic head spinning jam, with a “rock out” near the end 3)* (8:22) starts quiet, again the harmonics, but this one builds with pounding drums and the guitarist hits the strings full force, forceful describes this 4)* (10:39) starts with a mosaic of string harmonics that grow rhythmic and a big jam ensues built entirely on harmonics, drums bass, the works, post-rock’ish but not cloying, CAUTION: ends blindingly cold with 18 seconds left, almost like a recording glitch (could be my ipod?)
