Heavy. Intense. Defies all definition. This band continues to evolve, seemingly phagocytizing all genres it contacts. This is a perfect melding of the darkest heaviest elements of all things 4AD, industrial, noise, electro, doom, drone, hardcore. Vocals are a unique brand of a sick banshee wail contrasted with the presence of a beuritful operatic female vocalist. Music is ugly beauty. For fans of Swans, This Mortal Coil, Earth, Chopin, Throbbing Gristle, Skinny Puppy. Highly evolved music. Fucking masterpiece.
1) (3:34) begins w quiet noise, subsonic bass enters w somber strings, female vocs take center, intense cold ending that can stand on its own or blend into next. 2) (4:30) weird electro noise and subtle noise, beat, the mixes up the vocs inc that banshee wail 3) (4:22) intense, weird drama of Laibach comes to mind, intense tribal pounding off the hook. 4)* (3:39) intense Swans crashing and intensity 5)* (5:56) electrobeat takes center, dramatic female vocals appear again, still very dark, hollow. 6) (5:30) big electro feel, beat, wow, super cool when banshee wail appears, walls of sound. 7)* (4:04) begins with beautiful rumble noise drone, then big rock drums and full on quintessential The Body scream wailing 8)* (4:58) begins with rumble drone again but this time operatic This Motal Coil female vocs appear, then total piano loveliness gets smeared out with sonic pounding that would make early Swans proud. 9) (5:35) quiet start, then gated blasts of percussion and chords, heavy, followed by an ABSOLUTE wall of intensity, as the woman drops the opera and sounds like she’s being murdered now 10)** (8:32) quiet noise builds into wall of sound, then it stops cold and a quiet SOMBER piano with a dark sick voice over, the dearth of spirit, ambition, filled with self loathing “I’ve reached the peak of emptiness and everthing hurts”, quiet pretty female humming lullabies the pain away, death comes as a welcome balm
