A pure distillation of all things Sabbath: unabashed riff based doom, walls of Marshalls and Apegs, drums like bombs. Songs start with a solid simple riff worthy of all things bong which the chords build upon. Vocals appear and don’t dominate, are indecipherable bleak heavy chords in themselves. Absolute perfection, all songs grrrrr-eat! From Columbus Ohio, another American band taking this all back from the Norwegians (this country may have awful healthcare and social policies but do. Not. Fcuk. With. Our. Crushing. Metal…..Sven.)
1) (9:40) slow doomy riff to start blossoms into full doom plunder, big unobtrusive bleak vocs 2)* (10:47) another beauty, this one with a bluesy slow guitar lead in the middle, anything but wanky, just killer, kind of a false ending with 3 min remaining but instead things just get heavier and uglier with creepy subtle sound (is that an organ?) 3) (8:57) a tad more deathy in vocals and overall feel, with a near “pretty” guitar bridge almost midway 4)* (12:37) huge nasty bass driven, noise laden bluesy with a swing to it, semi 12 bar blues progression made more apparent with appearance of dark harmonica, bad ass, goes double time eventually and pounds its way out
