100% 60’s retro psychedelic garage. I thought this was “nugget” dug up from the past that’s how totally retro this is. Nope, a contemporary band reviving the sound of Paul Revere and Raiders, Mamas and the Papas, The Kinks, 13th Floor Elevators, early Pink Floyd, The Byrds, Electric Prunes. Fuzz toned guitars, Rickenbacher flat wound bass, Farfisa organ, songs about girls and love and slight drug references. For other new bands doing psych like this see also Dionysus Records for starters.
1) (2:19) bouncy fun, about evolution vs creationism in a subtle way 2) (3:42) 12 bar slow garage rock love song 3)* (3:36) Kinks 60’s punk feel in power chords, searing fuzz guitar appears, hand claps 4) (3:05) strummy love song 5) (3:49) cool upbeat with fuzzy guitar and organ, classic lyrical phrasing over subtle 12 form 6) (2:46) cool Rickenbacher bass line leads this 7) (3:05) something early Pink Floyd about this, Barrett era 8) (3:16) jangly, Mamas and Papas feel 9) (3:09) organ melodies, bouncy, “here in the woods” 10) (3:12) upbeat classic tone, “tears in my eyes” 11)* (3:18) “Hallucination Generation”, fuzz toned vibrato guitar looms, epic hit quality
