INDIE ROCK / POP
This is the third full-length album by Denver-based singer-songwriter, Esmé Patterson.
The songs (all by Paterson with lyrics provided on an insert) are good throughout, often about relationships (variously with men & women). The vocals are very good as well.
FCC issue in track #7
1 ** Very fast. High energy rocker. Exuberant mood. (3:02)
2 ** Mid-tempo. Bright & cheerful. A case for acceptance, with faults & all. (2:50)
3 Mid-tempo. A plea a girlfriend to be treated better. (3:43)
4 * Mid-tempo. A bit of obsession w/ twangy guitars. I'm drawn to your light. (3:39)
5 Slow. Overloud instruments overwhelm the singing. About being swept away. (2:54)
6 * Slow. Ballad about paradise (kinda). Just guitar, voice, & water sound. (3:54)
7 (FCC: "shit") ** Mid-slow. Delightful but slightly sad love song. Great vocal. (2:52)
8 * Mid-fast. Good feeling, uplifting pop love song with an invitation. (2:33)
9 Mid-tempo. Title track isn't bad, but isn’t among the best. (3:15)
10 Mid-tempo. Straightforward rock song. C'mon you better decide. Good guitars. (3:18)
11 ** Very slow. Touching sweet love song. Just voice & strumming guitar. Pretty. (2:48)
12 Mid-tempo. A bit of self pity. Just ok. (3:29)
