Trio founded by original Isis founder Aaron Turner, continues journey into post-metal, heavy guitar centered music, heavy guttural evil vocals. Big tones. Fans of Neurosis, Isis, Don Caballero, Enablers, Earth, Swans will enjoy. Four long tracks that evolve, devolve, are less songs than complete compositions, heavy rock operas. Dramatic, epic stuff all.
1) (21:32) comes out pummeling dissonant, guttural evil vocals appear 90 sec in, becomes more of a swaying triplet beat in 4 min, at 6 min it completely stops and quiets down, easily mistaken for a new song, shortly launches into noose inspiring DOOM, a slow almost quiet plod eventually evolves, with about 3 min left a church like organ takes over and it all wraps up as dramatic and one could imagine, epic 2)* (15:45) begins with noise guitar, then a galloping pummel which devolves into a noise guitar near-improv, plodding evil appears afterward, ends with a gallop again 3) (12:03) big drop tuned bass leads this, pounding tribal, guitars ring of heavy post rock Don Caballero, Enablers 4)** (16:50) begins sparse heavy but after ~3 min turns into a lovely sustain noise drone, ends when a big tribal beat appears, then+ a solo noise guitar meandering, then a huge epic pummeling that breaks down into the end
