All female No Wave Post Punk revival reliving the pure joy of late 70’s bands Raincoats, Lilliput with use of cowbells, woodblocks, disjunct intentionally sloppy dissonant music, female vocals doubled up/harmonized like those girl groups of lore. See also Cakelike, everything on the No New York compilation from the late 70’s, Fire Engines, Glaxo Babies, Red Krayola. All songs brief, disjunct, clean dissonant guitar, lots of simple percussion thrown in, unrepentant No Wave Post Punk throw back. From NYC of course.
1) (1:17) brief simple disjunct no vocals 2) (2:34) female simple vocals appear with the disjunct No Wave bringing to mind Raincoats Lilliput/Kleenix 3) (1:25) urgent, noisy 4) (1:50) clean and disjunct 5) (0:51) urgent all hands on deck with some yelling 6) (1:30) slow passages 7) (1:24) somewhat waltzing 8)* (1:12) urgent and noisier, some fuzz on the guitar 9)* (2:26) more songlike, less in your face post punk 10) (2:41) slower, bass driven instrumental, long fade out 11) (1:05) simple and more songlike 12) (1:49) simple single note stuff shifts upbeat 13) (1:26) vocal heavy with actual harmonies 14)* (1:40) super cool deep dissonant bass section toward of this one smacks of early burning spear era Sonic Youth 15) (1:37) slower swing to this, almost funky 16)* (2:52) “found sound” feeling, boom box demo/practice of the women singing, midway is transistions seamlessly into a studio recording of it with drums etc 17) (1:08) super disjunct 18)* (1:49) simple and a bit more musical 19)* (2:03) slower simpler and I hear a clarinet. goes double time midway 20)* (1:12) a take on that awful Hall and Oates song “rich girl” w the clarinet, I like this much better 21) (1:25) simple and a bit more straightforward
