“In the Morning I Will Roam” b/w “Winter Is Blue” is the eleventh 7" single by Folkestone (Kent), England garage band The Higher State. Melodic, brief and stimulating garage rock as vintage as you can get. Let it bleed.

Formed in 2004, The Higher State are the UK’s premier garage band, with authentic 60s sounding productions and high caliber songwriting.
The A-side In The Morning I Will Roam, recounts similar sounds from the mid 60’s folk rock boom, with jangled guitars, harmonies and deep societal lyrics. Think... 13 Floor Elevators (bull of the woods era) Peter And Gordon and The Byrds if they had combined.
The B-side is a cover of Vashti Bunyan's 1966 classic Winter Is Blue. Here the State make the track their own and give it a more Stonesy feel.
