Bad ass nasty echoey hard driving punky garage, tinges of horror and even Devo in places. Bouncy pogo tone out of control in many places. Songs are short with almost zero dead time between tracks so could be played continuous for a rockin’ brief set in itself. Play with Scaners, Exit Group, Blank Dogs, Cavemen. Crazy good stuff, better than meth crank, puppy uppers. No jangly guitar strumming to be seen; all powerful downstrokes (the way punk should be). It amazes me that people pay gym fees when they can just go flail/dance to bands like this instead.
From Montreal Canada, via the illustrious dependable Slovenly Records. No FCCs detected but the vocs are pretty fuzzy on my headphones.
1)* (1:31) 80’s mechanical synth rock instrumental, devo’esque, see also Blank Dogs 2)* (2:04) driving bouncy old school new wave pogo punk on crank 3) (1:52) still driving hard but less pogo this time 4) (2:02) new wave punk comes to mind again in the high energy bounciness 5) (2:13) more tribal and less frenetic, melodic and more accessible, this is their version of “chill”? 6)* (2:59) another bouncy one that’s less frenetic and melodic and almost poppy(!) 7) (2:25) dirty and smarmy swingy with the strange tones smacking of Blank Dogs again 8) (0:32) revisit of the first synth track 9) (1:11) snare pounding thrashing punky madness 10)* (2:55) lovely tribal bouncing rhythmic pure power chord rockin beauty 11)* (1:56) “I’m a lush” - driving consistent punky rock with melodic hook guitar in middle and chordal bridge 12) (2:25) another good power chord laden drivin song 13) (2:40) another driving one – similar to others but it’s a fine fine recipe 14)* (6:19) slower triplet over 4/4 type beats, cool as it jams on with killer noise leads
