Don’t You Think You’ve Had Enough?
As a consistent continuation from their previous album Welcome the Worms, this album succeeds in providing more solid indie rock hits. I had a hard time picking favorites because they’re all good. Drumming is a bit more disco on this one!
Recommended: 2, 4, 5, all of them
FCC’s: 3, 10, 12
RIYL: Tacocat, Hinds, recent Paramore
1. Heartbeat Away (3:26) *** - Very catchy and solid intro track.
2. Hard To Kill (3:26) *** - Guitar resembles Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, with a driving drum beat and lots of tambourine. Good for dancing.
3. Daydream (3:40) *** - Unhealthy high school crush vibes. (FCC: fucked)
4. I Get What I Need (1:47) *** - Short and sweet with lots of hi hat.
5. Somebody Dial 911 (3:27) **** - Even more hi hat with big, chorusy vibes. Good for getting high with friends.
6. Kiss You Goodbye (3:16) *** - Jangly guitar and 4 on the floor dance beat.
7. Rebound City (3:46) *** - Nice bass fills! Fun lyrics with more of the same.
8. Silly Girl (3:04) *** - Lots of vocal harmonies and interesting tube effects.
9. Valley To LA (3:27) *** - Synth and guitar makes it kinda blue grassy until the chorus.
10. Real Life (2:44) **** - Handclaps and syllabic vocals make this one fast and powerful. (FCC: shit)
11. Awkward Phase (3:23) *** - Another solid track.
12. Shitty Ballet (3:43) **** - Nice hook in the chorus and unique acoustic instruments make this one stand out. Blows up at 2:43! (FCC: shitty)
