In 'Mother, this (German) Swiss septet expands their indie-folk sound by incorporating a host of exotic instruments to generate an experimental, yet accessible & alluring, sound. Their signature style is still based upon the dreamy, slightly accented, vocals of frontwoman Janine Cathrein, but the arrangements eschew traditional chorus/verse structure for a more free form structure. Their smokey, flowing sound is accented with a variety of stringed instruments and synths all played by the band, including Cathrien's siblings Vera & Simon.
