Concession Stand Girl is indie Virginia-native Corrinne James’ latest EP as Naomi Alligator. It’s clear that James’ put a lot of thought into the “plot diagram” of this 4-track EP. In this voice-forward extended play, James matures with every song, starting with the lyrical naiveté of a teenager and ending with the understanding of someone who’s experienced (but might not fully understand) adulthood. Like others in its genre, this EP is very personal and oddly folksy, with LOTS of banjo, some soft guitar, and touches of surprisingly well-placed synth.

(2:31) Momma - mid-tempo, very calm and consistent throughout, very youthful (?)... dreamy in a retrospective way
*(3:41) Anywhere Else - mid-fast tempo, guitar and minimal synth help make it the least folksy song on the EP… if the last song was written by a high schooler, this one was written by a university student
*(1:55) Big Blue World - mid-slow tempo… a sweet song with some banjo… good closing track
