Dark heavy textured amalgam of what's usually thought of as electro, black metal, hip hop, ambient, noise, industrial. A creative mix that only a supergroup having a member of The Body could conjure. Vocals veer from ethereal to the trademark demonic banshee wail of The Body, to free style hip hop. This form of the supergroup again includes female poets (Moor Mother contributed to a previous). This is some advanced stuff not to be missed.
The Body and associates have likely done more to mix up these disparate genres than anyone. See also their recent related releases, collaborations (e.g. Uniform). Sightless Pit appears to be the cauldron. More excellent information on bandcamp https://sightlesspit.bandcamp.com/ including:
“Sightless Pit is Lee Buford (The Body) and Dylan Walker (Full of Hell) in alightment with: Midwife, Lane Shi Otayonii, YoshimiO, Gangsta Boo, Crownovhornz, Foie Gras, claire rousay, Chrissy Wolpert, Frukwan, Industrial Hazard, Michael Berdan”
1) (5:27) slow simple sparse beat to start, remains chill, esp at end, very quiet calm before storm 2) (4:24) rhythmic with hip hop delivered vocals toward end 3) (5:15) brutally harsh, screams, rugged, tough to start but steers into ambience 4) (5:20) pulsing pensive with big crashes, enter screamo vocs then goes double time ratchets up 5) (4:40) gets into some heavy industrial sense with text delivered poetry 6)* (5:40) rhythmic slow beat swirling ambient weirdness 7) (3:14)hip hop vocs are in front, sharp contrast to Buford’s screamo 8)* (4:11) super dense and noisey industrial plod, dark as shit with “evil” vocals 9)* (5:20) dark and cinematic, creepy childlike poem delivery Bill C. 3/23
