Deep house with a serious groove. I mean, damn. Short, no-nonsense EP from Detroit underground legend. Sent to us from Los Angeles record label and fellow radio-heads, Low Recordings. All tracks are nice—you can’t go wrong. FCC Clean
RIYL: Moodymann, Mike Huckaby, Kenny Dixon Jr, Andres
1. Strings-heavy with a nice skippy beat. Lots of funk in the bassline
2. Punchy beat that features a reading of William Ernest Henley's poem "Invictus." Nice warm pulses and a touch of cooing vocals
3. Peppy and percussion-centric with lots of hand drums. Also features a lot of lush strings and a recurring sample of Charlie Chaplin’s unifying speech in "The Great Dictator."
