LOCAL! Lo-fi dream pop, one of San Francisco's main so-called fog-pop bands. Idyllic and calming, extremely pretty. These pieces are relaxed in sound and casual in presentation (tape hiss and clipping, false starts, open-ended jamming), but the offhand approach belies how skillfully they channel serenity and yearning. 4. (5:22)—Very slow. Sluggish drum machine beat. Low, half-buried singing.
5. (4:31)—Mid-tempo, danceable. Thick low-end on the beat, high synths, guitar echoes.
