Immense underground #techno release by from rising talent Works of Intent (FKA R.O.S.H.) In addition to producing music, he is an outspoken activist for issues facing the South Asian diaspora and is a vehement critic of the music industry’s lack of coverage of minorities in electronic music. His latest release comes via the shadowy Cod3 QR label helmed by Laurent Garnier and Scan X. Full of sweeping melodies, hammering percussion, and emotional storytelling with compelling vocal snippets. Completely spellbinding. FCC: 4, 11 TRY: 7, 6, 10
(1.) Ticking clocks, whispered sultry conversations a nice loose breakbeat
(2.) Slow-building intro with old TV commercial samples. Plunging organ-sounding melody with skittering beats below. Anxious and driven
(3.) Ringing up-pitched synths with bells and hammering percussion
(4.) (FCC) Rattly anxious techno beat with interview snippets
(5.) Brooding washes and vocal snippets about colors over a hammering beat
(6.) Thunderous beat with throbbing synth. Ominous vibe
(7.) Hammering beat with sinister electro-tinged synth and F1 racing samples. Deep punchy bassline.
(8.) Long, anxious-sounding intro freefalls into a spiraling techno banger. Hypnotic
(9.) Clubby proggy slow-burner with crazy-deep basslines and snazzy synth up top
(10.) Dreamy and swirling with a muffled kickdrum
(11.) (FCC) Dark warehouse techno with spooky effects and a harrowing interview about death row
(12.) DnB reprise of the first track with the same clock ticking and sultry female vocals. Beautify synth interludes
