Brazilian meets renaissance with traditional Afro Brazilian instruments with European recorders and viola da Gamba. From the Northeast of Brazil comes music influenced by the Mid East through stories that are still told in the semi arid regions by cattle ranchers.1: Slow wailing vocals with medieval instruments and Brazilian percussion. *2: Candomble( Afro Brazilian religion) a song to Xango( shan go). Vocal and percussion, slow to fast. *3: Mid East influence, struggle btw. major and minor musical modes. Pace changes, slow and fast. *4: Maracatu (royal pageants staged by slaves during colonial times). Rapid percussion that sounds like fireworks going off. *5: Violin, shaker and percussion, fast. 6: Harpsichord, flute and percussion. A minuet from 17 &18 centuries, with Afro Brazilian percussion. Mostly slow. 7: renaissance music with a new percussion, lively. 8: slow, recorder and harpsichord. 9: Afro Brazilian rhythms with recorder and harpsichord, slow. *10: High energy Maracatu, vocal and fireworks like percussion. 11: slow flute and female singer. 12: recorder and percussion, moderale fast. 13,14: play both tracks, recorder and fast percussion. 15: Very short female vocal solo, slow. *16: vocal duel btw. 2 minstrels with tambourim, fast.
