Complex but listenable jazz. Mostly bebop flavored but iconoclastic, like Monk. This album is a resurrection of Nichols' compositions by musicians that are fans of his stuff. Fairly straight lineup--sax, trumpet, bass, drum, piano. Give it a listen, after I got used to it, I really liked most of the stuff on here.
