Bollywood Funk
Indian Film Music. This is another fine collection of Bollywood music, showing how many different music styles are mixed in Indian film music to create some funky hybrids. This particular collection has a lot of Italian soundtrack feel, Morricone and Easy Tempo type stuff. These songs are the originals, not remixes like "Bombay the Hard Way" although I think several of these tracks made it into B.H.W. in the form of samples (tracks 4, 6, and 12). Unfortunately they have not included any composer/performer/movie information in the liner notes. All in all, a very, very dope collection, all tracks recommended start with tracks 1, 4, 12, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15
1) *Up-tempo, horns, cool brief vocal
2) Funky female vocal
3) Medium tempo, English female vocals
4) *Tense guitar alternates with funky horns, nice crime jazz feel
5) Up-tempo, big band
6) Big string intro, up-tempo rock
7) Female then male vocal, more sparse with Morricone feel
8) Slow intro, female vocal--more Morricone sound
9) Classic film music feel
10) Up-tempo, horns and strings, some great Raymond Scott style interludes
11) Cool strange English and Indian lyrics
12) *Funky up-tempo, wa-wa guitar
13) Heavy percussion, big horns
14) Car chase beat
15) Afro-cuban percussion
