Stalwart LA psych label Dionysus brings us perfect retro surf psych 60’s garage rock. Super drippy reverb’ed Fender guits, Vox organs, and surfabilly beats, unpretentious male vocs. Songs vary, keeping entire CD enjoyable. Lots of instrumentals. All excellent. Former Estrus/Seattle band (?).
1) 60’s psych rock, driving
2) swingy surfy rock, good lyrics
3) 100% psych surf instrumental
4) funky brief voice over intro to next song
5) surf rock ode to the Bee
6) western twangy CCR guits over slow surf feel, evolves into klezmer-like polka briefly (yes, I shit you not), instrumental
7) upbeat psych rocker w/ surfy guits
8) 60’s lounge exotica martini music w/ latin tropical rhythm, instrumental
9) heavy surf rock
10) 100% cute surf
11) latin exotica w/ acoustic guit + drippy reverb, rhumba my darling… instrumental
12) twangy silly surfabilly w/ a burp
13) psych garage heavy beat, mean 60’s feel
14) searing 60’s fuzz guit, minor melodic surfy instrumental, ends after ~2:30, then a profanity laced upbeat rocker kicks in (FCCs) as a “hidden” track
