Alva Noto “Transform” [label: mille plateaux]
Abstract, minimal electronica. Precise “sine wave scratching” and blow-the-woofer bass. Scratchy, chirpy, and held together by regular beats. –nari
1. stripped down Squarepusher; turn the bass up
2. constant, vibrating tone adorned by cricket song – no rhythm
3. mellow, rounded singing tones with jerky, skippy beats that become more elaborate; on the long side (10:00)
4. hum of dying fluorescent lights; beats come in at 2:00; dentist's breakdance
5. uses volume as a parameter of rhythm; sea sick
6. low ominous pulse and perky speaker pops
7. darker, back alley sound; changing beat patterns
8. slower and thinner
9. low frequency rumble, then layers on complicated patterns of high frequencies; continues into ->
10. midrange tremolo rises slowly and falls again
