Solo and duet improvisations recorded inside churches -- which adds a nice reverb effect, although it's hard to appreciate given the low recording level.
Most of these are explorations in sound, good stuff for late-night playing. Some of the highlights include Eddie Prevost of AMM doing waves of sound on cymbals (track 8) and the sax-and-synthesizer noisefest featuring John Butcher (track 3).
- Vocal solo, not operatic enough to be that good
- Solo acoustic guitar, long and tiresome despite some vicious playing
- Sax and synthesizer noise, dynamic
- Electronics and percussion. Dark.
- Solo violin: swooping and screeching sounds
- Solo trombone in 3 segments (fast/slow/fast)
- Tuba! and percussion. Laid back and quiet.
- Cymbals and gongs. Starts near-silent but gets loud like a fierce storm
- Electronics: dark and spacey waves
- Church organ: Long dissonant tones, like a sine-wave whine
