Nice ensemble stuff -- complex bop or well-rooted free jazz. Mixes accessible elements with the occasional "Out there" solo, but stays quite friendly for fans of "normal" jazz.
Band is jazz guitar, 2 trumpets, 2 sax, bass, drums.
1- Slow and abstract
2*- Midtempo, rollicking, almost big-band feel
3*- Fast, w/some toe-tapping moments
4*- Slow, mischevious, bluesy
5- Slowish. Big tumbling ending.
6- Fast bop solos after a long spare intro w/vibes. At -8:05, gets into floaty flute, almost psychedelic
7- Soft big-band sound
