Two Gallants -- s/t
Country/rock/blues -- You might be sick of two-member blues-soul-rock bands (rhymes with Blight Pipes) but these two guys from San Francisco are the real deal --poetic, soulful lyrics and great lo-fi production. Singer's voice is reminiscent of Dylan but not overly as to be derivative. Some heartbreaking blues, some foot-stompin swampy rock, plus a super lo-fi Hank Williams cover. Good stuff!
PICS: 2, 4, 5, 7, 13
1. starts slow/midtempo, rises to a fevered pitch toward the end
2. blues, lyrics about woman leaving you for jesus
3. slow bluesy/rock with harmonica
4. country/blues/rock -- midtempo, lyrics about patriotism,
5. slow lament, good guitar work, great!
6. slow, lo-fi country/rock, lyrics about market street
7. blues/rock -- dylan-esque gambling story -- great
8. faster guitar at beginning, upbeat instrumental stormp
9. slow poetic lyrics, bluesy-rock
10. goofy rant with hick accent at beginning, then slow rock ballad
11. slow, backwoods rock/blues, guitar+vocal, drums come in later
12. blues, quiet beginning, increases in tempo, intensity,
13. lo-fi hank williams cover -- good!
14. quiet beginning, slow swingy country withharmonica, brushed drums
