ARABIC NEW WAVE (with TECHNO/ROCK/POP/LOUNGE influcences)
Interesting and unusual, could be described as arabic "new wave", not so much for the instruments chosen, but rather for the darkish mood and western music influence put together in an unprecented way.
Tintin Love Meter: 6/10
Tintin's faves :#3*,4, 5, 8
1-05:14-slow to mid speed, female arabic singing, accoustic bass, techno synths and beat that builds up, neat
2-04:28-mid speed cheesy melody on arabic strings, accoustic bass, funky guitar, techno synths and female arabic singing/laments
3-04:51-mid-speed more conventional techno, upbeat, but a little spooky, addition of male arabic singer on flanger, echoed strings are cool, warm chorus with accordion, this one is cool in an unexpected way...
4-04:37-mid-speed funky guitar, female singer, techno beat, not bad
5-03:51-mid-speed, pretty techno pop persian/arabic piece with a piano touch, the music sounds western, depeche mode style, but the male singing is definitely persian or arabic, pretty.
6-03:41- slow to mid-pace conventional rock, with heavily reverbed male arabic singing from amr diab
7-04:05- mid-pace pop, borderline cheesy, female singing, sounds a bit "amateur", it's all about habibi (my love) ;-)
8-05:16- mid-speed, Sounds really like n-ew wave, repetitive hypnotic strings melody over conventional accoustic band, echo delayed female singing, distorted guitar chorus, darkish mood
9-04:29- another one on habibi ;-), definitely cheesy territory, slow to mid-paced, lamenting male voice, rock sound
10-04:11- instrumental, arabic flute, sitar, dirty techno a-la masive attack, strange and unusual mix, as Dando C might put it, listen to this if you are looking for additional confusion in your life want to be further confused about your life...
