Metal. Double kick-drum machine gun beats, drop tuned guits, heavy as fuck rightousness, moments of true head banging bliss. Feels like Sepultura in places, but the vocs are more 80’s hair metal than cookie monster, operatic but surprisingly enough not silly. In fact, this band rekindles my appreciation for Dio, Halford (Priest) dramatic operatic vocs (which were what spoiled metal for me 22 years ago). Good shit; Orges would approve, I hope (this is the first release from these guys in six years- they are in fact old school).
1) epic dramatic orchestral intro, play only if you continue to next track
2) drop tuned machine gun double bass drum barrage, one FCC late
3) faster almost galloping, whoa! Vocs are 80’s, judas priest’ish
4) heavy slow/fast, cool sounds
5) galloping, pure double kick shifts into impossibly cool rhythm, this one kicks fucking asss with epic vocs etc
6) anthemic fast barrage
7) slower epic intro turns double picked metal and more epic changes and shifts
8) FCC in chorus, too bad because this one is the best, has an amazing backbeat rhythm- the FCCs are pretty predictable and easy to edit, so… (the line is “youre and animal, an animal, a goddamn fucking animal!” pretty easy to bleep out really
9) smoking, fast, mean, crickets
10) mellow intro builds into heavy rock w/ operatic vocs, epic, slower drama
