Once again, the duo of Spring Heel Jack teams up with an all-star lineup of avant-jazzsters, this time for two 30-minute jams. It's got a rock/fusion feel, with Matthew Shipp playing electric piano and J Spaceman contributing guitar bursts... but there's plenty of jazziness from Evan and William Parker too. The group manages to nail some big dramatic moments in each of the pieces -- very cool stuff.
1- Almost proggy jam, starts with guitar burst and electric-piano splashes. Develops a good intensity within 5 minutes.
A quiet period starts around -27:00, then everything kicks back in around -22:00 with a fiercer jam, and slashing sax from Evan Parker.
At -18:30 starts a placid segment with electronic paper-crunching sounds.
By -8:00, it's gone back to a chaotic attack, and ends in calm psychedelic territory.
2- Fast William Parker/Han Bennik duo to start.
After -32:00, a sudden shift into an explosion of noise. Then a calmer overall improv jam with a bit of a swing.
It halts around -21:00. Audience applause.
Then the music re-emerges: Second half is slow and dramatic and BIG, lots of burning guitar topped by Evan Parker's trademark circular breathing.

Track 1 breakdown info, provided by Thirsty Ear:
0:00 to 7:10 ..... sci-fi free jazz
7:00 to 11:25 ..... very mellow
11:30 to 17:10 ..... a bit funky at times, gets intense
17:20 to 24:30 or 27:30 ..... a very beautiful section moving back into sci-fi free jazz
27:25 to END ..... opens with a walking line from William Parker, becomes ballad-like
