Very tough compositional jams from the UK, shot like a spike into the vein of jazz/rock fusion circa early seventies, although the liner notes say seminal Miles Davis release “Bitches Brew” wasn’t out when they started this band. This type of fusion is much more than jamming, it’s pure instrumental communication, in an open forum, submersed in heavy grooves. Most of this live release from Germany in 1971 rocks, great solos, one could say more Crimson than Miles at times. Songs are long, check for times. Each track flows into the next.

CD1
1. A very “Bitchy” intro, scattered, kicks into FULL fusion groove at 2 min. with nice dual horn melody, most like Crimson in its progressive persuasions.
2. Like a 60’s hippie ballad, flute solo, really comes alive around 10 min. mark
3. Slow, smokey groove repeated over different keys, a lot like a “Bitches” groove, trumpet/guit solos, goes double time at 12 min.
4. Similar feel as #3, more sympathetic, DIG the double flute crescendos – powerful, like a good blaxploitation theme, beautiful flute solos, grooves at 6 min.
5. Funky, feel good, like early 70’s Hubbard or Herbie, short track

CD2
1. Wild free form intro, slow groove in 10/8 after a few min., alto followed by bluesy guitar solo
2. Optimistic and upbeat, solid, falls apart at 6 min.
3. Like an afterthought of #2, but grooves harder
4. Short track, loose/free composition, alto lead
5. Slow, deliberate groove, very similar to #3 on
CD1, but better phrasing, like Bill Withers song, a loose interpretation of soul jazz, GOOD SHIT.
6. Drum solo
7. End theme, sounds like a 70’s TV show
