The Mandolin Tribute to Andrea Bocelli
Single mandolin on melody, backed up by guitar and bass, in simple folky instrumentations. Most of the songs are the“greatest hits” of Andrea Bocelli’s opera/classical repertoire. (How do you have an instrumental tribute to an opera singer who didn’t write any of the songs he sang?)

1. one guitar accompanying one mandolin on melody; sweet slow ballad (been recently covered by silly pop stars, so less cool)
2. “Italian” sounding; midtempo folk song sound with lots of strummy mandolin and guitar; it’s in waltz time.
* 3. dreamy, like the title says, romance; mandolin on melody while guitar colors in the background with nonstop arpeggios.
* 4. “Italian” sounding again; very animated melody, tripping waltz (heard this song before . . .)
5. sparse chords and simple melody, meditative folky tune, free with the tempo
* 6. FAMOUS opera tune. One Italian products always write new lyrics for in their commercials. Uptempo, brisk and breezy and happy.
* 7. O Sole Mio—ANOTHER super famous song. Slow, with strummy mandolin, quiet backup, pretty. Good for gondoliering yourself down a starry Venetian canal. The longest track.
8. slow, meditative (it IS called The Prayer), sweet, more Adult Contemporary sounding, somehow.
* 9. Minor key folk song, midtempo, strummy guitar background, sultry feel
* 10. slow and dark; another pretty famous tune; very dark Spanish guitar-y. lots of fancy ornamental guitar playing.
