Really truly terrific Seattle band. The sound is hard to describe, but it’s very rock ‘n’ roll with a jittery, anxious, angular aesthetic. There’s also a vague “science” theme present in many of the songs. Vocals are deep and detached, but not in a robotic, overly slick way. Despite the very modern feel, this record is not calculated and relies on a pretty standard, messy electric guitar and rumbling bass. Very very cool. Oh, and only 1000 copies were printed on vinyl, so don’t steal from KZSU bitch. There’s a CD version that has come out as well.

SIDE 1 picks:
2 Stiff, agitated, but in a groovy way.
6 On the prowl with a deep, steady, angry bass and great guitar.
8 Very garage-y with a Gang of Four-ish bass and Stooges-y guitar.

SIDE 2 picks:
2 Strangely danceable with a brooding undercurrent.
4 Nice incorporation of an acoustic guitar into a great rock song about desperation.
5 Creepy, cool, nervous haunted house feel.
6 Lethargic, messy, scatterbrained. The longest cut on either side.
