A pleasing mix of samba, pop, salsa, and tropicalia from this local trio+many friends. The songs are upbeat and well-executed while the production is not overly slick. The songs are originals though the themes and moods are familiar and warm.
1. Light samba / light rock feel
2. Ska-tinged pop with saucy saxophone solo
3. Rapper is really saying a mouthful – alas in Portuguese; nice piano trills tho’
4. Dark rhythms from the heart of the Amazon
5. Light guitar lines carry a peppy vocal and a lilting clarinet solo
6. Cuban jazz y salsa
7. Goethe!?
8. Tropicalia-style slightly psychedelic pop which seques into next track
9. Guitar, drums, and filtered rap; also a short funky bass solo; excellent
10. Samba verses with deep drums alternate with piano-driven choruses
11. Berimbau and mellow organ complement female singer’s clear voice
12. Stronger samba rhythm, more like the large bandsyou encounter at carnivals
13. Lightly jazzy but slightly cheesy
14. Folksy (i.e., acoustic) large samba ensemble playing a charmingly rustic tune
15. Drum-n-rap epilogue
