Upbeat guitar-heavy pop oscillates between angsty brit-pop and folksy country. Boyish male vocals, no FCC’s. I like track 6.
Cheery guitar lick, with completely unrelated slurred vocals and piano underneath making for 13 seconds of dementia. (0:13)
Same cheery guitar lick. Brit-pop vocals with adolescent lyrics about the callousness of some chick. Sugar-coated angst. Rising drumminess subsides into a soft Vegas-elegiac ending. (4:04)
Soft tense intro. Pleasant guitar-heavy melody, with lyrics about music, traveling, and ennui. Rawkin’ drum solo in the middle. (4:56)
Poppy, with lots of piano. Lyrics: nobody cares what I do anyway, so I might as well just go to sleep. Repetitive chords get a bit grating. (3:07)
Sweet acoustic ballad, with pitchy high vocals about some chick that this dude really likes. Violin ensures extra sappitude. Do you like Simon and Garfunkel? (3:22)
Bluegrass guitar, with weird vibrating sound (gutbucket?). Lyrics: I was sad when you broke up with me, but now I’m glad, especially since you’re in the hospital, or dead, or something. “Now who’s cryin’ over who?” Whistling! (3:16)
Strummy acoustic guitar, prominent confidential vocals about alcoholism and some girl who visits. Steel guitar interlude heightens the country flavor. (5:09)
