Mostly slow, bluesy songs with traditional roots and a melancholy feel. This is a reissue from the old ESP label, which documented quite a bit of the '60s free jazz scene. While this isn't an aggressive blowout like some of those disks, it's got some nice explorations. And it features Marion Brown and Booker T (?!) on sax.

Day tosses in some weird inflections -- uncomfortably low notes here and there, or the occasional bluesy GROWWWWL (see 5 and especiallly 4). The growls are too loud and too far out of place, even for "free" jazz.

1- Midtempo, romantic
2*- Gentle
3- Wordless singing, cute little bit
4- Slow wandering song, starts a capella. Mostly high and sweet, w/a couple of startling bluesy GROWWWLs
5- A capella
6*- Overlapping sax jam, echoey avant-garde feel, midtempo
